Written by Alex Terris

Red Steel developers Ubisoft have officially announced their Nintendo Revolution game Red Steel. To read the press release, please click Read More.

Red Steel is an action game set in modern day Japan. Gamers will be able to master the use of martial-arts style swords as well as conventional guns through four trainers who guide you through the game. However they will only teach you if you earn their respect. You can earn respect through many paths, including sparing your enemies lives when you defeat them.

“We’re honoured to announce this exciting new franchise and we’re confident that Red Steel will be the must-have title for the Revolution when it launches,” said Serge Hascoet, chief creative officer at Ubisoft. “We have been working closely with Nintendo to take full advantage of the innovative controller to create a thrilling experience that can only exist on the Revolution.”

Red Steel aims to entice older gamers to the console, as well as bringing in people who've never picked up a console controller before. Red Steel should be playable at next months E3.

"Nintendo is excited to have Ubisoft bring Red Steel to the Revolution launch lineup,” said Reggie Fils-Aime, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Nintendo of America. “Ubisoft makes some of the most innovative and critically acclaimed games in the industry and from what we have seen from Red Steel it is going to be a standout exclusive title on the Revolution.”

Ubisoft have also recently praised the Revolution, calling its new controller and hardware "magical". They've promised that there will be many more Rev games from them in the future.

Definitely, Wii has become as the most popular and most sought after gaming console nowadays. It is different from the usual gaming equipment that we used to know of. Many factors were given as to the reason for resurgence of this most innovative games machine over a very short period of time. One is the cost which makes it even more affordable to those who are tight on budget. And the other are the games that went along with the product that requires a different method of playing them. It's a fun gaming machine and is the reason why it is very attractive to gamers and non-gamers of all ages.
